Bluespark Pro Petrol - MINI R56 1.6T JCW

I have added this Box to my MINI for a couple of months now. I went with a tuning box from Bluespark because I wanted more control and they got a real good write up.I have not taking out of the C setting yet and it has made a big change to my mini already. If you want a noticeable change and don't trust remaps or don't want to pay high prices for it. This is the answer all the way I would use Bluespark again.

Bluespark Pro Petrol - MINI Cooper S 08

Ordered for a MINI Cooper S 08 and came next day at 9am! Very easy to fit the only problem was finding somewhere to mount the box but no fault of blue sparks! A quick car anyway but can already feel the difference in acceleration and torque through the gears. I only have it set at 70% remap too. Going to test out a few other settings and see if the 0-62 time has increased. So far very impressed.

Bluespark Pro Petrol - MINI Cooper S R58

I have never left feedback for a tuning box. Why is this you might ask. Well in the past the tuning boxes I have purchased were for diesel cars and on a diesel car increased performance is supposedly easily obtained and I have been disappointed (these were not however Bluespark boxes). I could find very little information on tuning boxes in the UK for my petrol MINI Cooper S with the ones on offer either as expensive as a remap or an American import. I did however ultimately bite the bullet and purchase the box and although I had to remove the air box to fit it (my hands are big and fat and maybe if had slender hands this might not have been necessary) the total job took under 20 minutes. I have so far left it at the default setting which I assume is setting C (if settings are A to E) and have had no issues with lights or warnings. My initial thoughts were not much change here but then I noticed I could be in a higher gear for longer without needing to change down a gear and when I finally decided to give it 'some right foot' it literally flew off the line and away. This I was not expecting to be the case and I still have two more powerful settings to try if needed. It just seems to work and that is how it should be. When driving sedately the extra torque helps keep me in a higher gear longer and when the time comes for performance the car just comes alive.

Performance gains and Tuning box install

Bluespark offer tuning boxes for virtually all MINI models, including turbo petrol, and turbo diesel models. Popular examples of gains are as follows:


The classic MINI was a 1960s icon. First launched in 1959, the classic MINI's design remained recognisable for decades. The small economy car is actually a saloon, but has been offered in estate and van variants over the years. There have been several special editions and variants based on the standard MINI. 
BMW acquired the MINI brand as part of its purchase of Rover Group in 1994. Development of a new MINI started as a CityCar or Supermini. Launched in 2000, the all new MINI was met with rave reviews. Available in Cooper, Cooper S and One variations. Now into the third generation, there are seven models available with several variations of each.


MINI ONE / MINI ONE D Tuning Box

The MINI One is the entry level for the 3 and 5 door hatch variants. MINI's slogan "Go-kart excitement starts right here" seems quite appropriate. The body options available for the MINI One are a 3 door or 5 door hatch. The MINI One comes as a 1.6 litre 100BHP with 180Nm Torque. The addition of a Bluespark Pro Petrol Chip Tuning Unit increases this to a maximum output of 118BHP 206Nm. The MINI One D, for the Diesel engines, currently have a 1.6 litre L4 Turbo producing 89BHP / 215Nm Torque. Using the chip tuning technology of our Bluespark Pro + Boost Chip Box the output can be increased to 115BHP / 257Nm.


MINI Cooper / MINI Cooper D Tuning Box

The MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper D are popular mid-range models. It has additional specifications and design options over the MINI One. The MINI Cooper is available as a 3-door or 5-door Hatch, convertible, MINI Countryman (crossover SUV) and MINI Clubman (estate). The MINI Cooper D comes with a 1.6 litre 114BHP / 270Nm Common Rail Diesel engine, with the Bluespark Pro + Boost added the output is increased to 145BHP / 317Nm. The MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman both have a 2.0 litre 148BHP / 330Nm that can be increased to 184BHP / 385Nm with the Bluespark Pro + Boost. For the petrol, all engines across the variants are the same. The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 134BHP / 220Nm, adding the Bluespark Pro Petrol Module can increase the output to 169BHP / 307Nm.


MINI Cooper S / MINI Cooper SD Chip Box

As the higher of the two mid range specs, the MINI Cooper S adds more power and sportier styling over the standard Cooper. The MINI Cooper S is available as a 3 door and 5 door hatch, convertible and MINI Countryman. The MINI Cooper SD is equipped with a 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo common rail diesel engine. Producing 168BHP / 360Nm, adding the Bluespark Pro + Boost can add power and torque with 208BHP / 422Nm. The MINI Countryman has a 2.0 litre 187BHP / 400Nm increasing to 232BHP / 464Nm with our chip tuning technology.
In the Petrol, the top spec MINI Cooper S has a 2.0 litre 189BHP engine with 280Nm of Torque. Using our Bluespark Pro Petrol Tuning Module, the output can be increased to 217BHP / 318Nm.


MINI John Cooper Works Tuning Chip Box

John Cooper Works is MINI's high-performance range of cars. The Cooper Car Company first became involved with tuning MINI's in the 1960s. Since then they have produced special edition and modifications through the years. The MINI John Cooper Works is now the top range, high performance for the Hatch (3 door only), the convertible, the Clubman (estate) and the Countryman (crossover SUV). All variants are 2.0 Petrol Turbo engines, with a standard output of 228BHP / 350Nm. We can offer a map chip tuning box for each of these, with the Bluespark Pro Petrol Module you could increase output to 260BHP / 396Nm Torque.
